Senior Robotics Software Engineer

Advanced Construction Robotics, Inc. of Allison Park, PA is hiring a Senior Robotics Software Engineer for a Special Projects initiative that could evolve into a unique opportunity outside of our normal ecosystem. The commercial focus will be mobile construction robotics with a high degree freedom manipulator focusing on operation at height.
This Special Project Initiative will be an AI first (or AI native) effort - this is not a buzz word, it is a core strategy. It does not mean vibe coding, it is an acknowledgement that AI will be a consumer of much of our data and that it will likely write some of our code. AI tools will be strategically leveraged where it adds value. An experienced team will serve as the guard rails on output and idea exploration.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR ROBOTICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER
- Interest in exploring new concepts and wisdom/experience to keep the effort smart, focused, and efficient.
- Grit / Tenacity to push through hard problems.
- Expertise in designing and building complex systems and applications.
- Principal system/software ownership of motion controls for mobile platform and manipulator.
- Suitable experience with C++ and Python on embedded systems.
- Experience implementing algorithms and data structures in C++ and Python.
- Manipulator experience or suitable 3D experience to understand manipulator considerations.
- Overseeing software systems that cover the full range of a robotic solution requirements, e.g platform control and eventually things such as QA, traceability, field reports, service support etc.
- Ability to help define company culture and processes for efficiency and reliable customer focused product development.
- Willingness to lead efforts to identify and recruit new technical hires.
- Possibility for small amounts of travel (US only for foreseeable future).
