As an MBA Intern – Accounting & Financial Operations, you will be a part of a small but mighty team where you will drive impact in ensuring accuracy across the company’s financial operations, including monthly close processes, accounts payable, and strategic financial planning initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience across both tactical and analytical finance functions in the fast-paced world of an international Series A StartUp.

This role is ideal for an MBA student looking to apply their financial acumen in a real-world environment while helping shape the future of agriculture. You will report to the Head of Finance & Business Operations.

Responsibilities

Accounting

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting for Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows.
• Support the preparation of internal financial reports and variance analyses.
• Streamline accounting processes for automation, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Aid in setting and documenting financial policies and processes.

Financial Operations

• Review and process vendor invoices across domestic and international supply chains.
• Issue invoices for sales to customers.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Contribute to financial modeling, scenario planning, and budget tracking for manufacturing, R&D, and operational deployments.
• Develop reports and dashboards to monitor KPIs and support investor updates.

Needed Education

Enrolled in an accredited MBA program with a focus in Finance, Accounting, or Strategy.

Needed Skills and Experience

• Strong foundation in financial and accounting principles.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working with large datasets and reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present financial findings clearly.
• Passion for innovation in food systems, robotics, or sustainability.

Bonus Skills and Experience

• Experience with NetSuite
• Experience in high-growth startups.
• Familiarity with venture capital metrics and financial reporting for investors.
• International finance exposure (currency, compliance, or multi-entity accounting).

• Location: Pittsburgh, PA (on-site)
• Duration: 6-9 months with potential to extend
• Travel: Minimal (<1%)
• Compensation: Paid hourly internship, estimated 10-20 hours per week
• The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 – $30.00. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills and experience
• Sponsorship: Not available for internship roles
